Director of Operations

Four-year undergraduate degree - BA/BA in Industrial, Operations Management, Engineering, or similar

  • 10 plus years progressive manufacturing / process-oriented experience with 5+ of those years in managerial leadership positions, prefer experience metal fabrication
  • Role is responsible for metal fabrication, welding, assembly and developing strong and efficient operations for expected growth as a major platform
  • Proven success in Lean leadership and lean proficiency a must with strong operational problem solving, Lean Daily Management, 5-S, SMED practices, visual management, work place organization, KPI / Metrics - Kaizen environment
  • This role requires direct manufacturing and operations oversight including responsibility for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Talent Development
  • Manager labor, 2 shift configuration, up to 150+ associates, managers, two shifts, non-union - 200k sq ft operation and distribution center, and maintenance building
  • Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, financial reporting, budgets, management development, sourcing, quality, shipping / receiving, and maintenance
  • Must be metric driven plus an analytical decision maker, results oriented, creative, and relationship / team builder with strong financial management practices
  • Experience needed with production machine capabilities and knowledge of product features similar to fabrication, powder coating production
  • Candidate must have confidence, team building personality, proven talent development experience (this is a very eager workforce to improve)
  • Growth and expansion expected, with seasonal ramp up / pre-build for peak
  • Reports directly to the General Manager; strong future potential career growth 
  • Location: St. Louis, MO area
